Casteel Credits Crowd

Jeff Casteel

WVU assistant coach Jeff Casteel credited the crowd for getting involved early and helping the defense stuff Maryland in the first quarter of WVU's 31-17 win.

West Virginia's defensive unit got off to a great start against Maryland, holding the Terps to just 28 yards in the first quarter and completely stifling their attack. Jeff Casteel noted that West Virginia's crowd was into the game from the start, and that the noise helped contribute to some of the problems experienced by Maryland quarterback Jamar Robinson.

Casteel also commented on the notion that getting sacks helps the morale of the defense, and explained that his unit was prepared to use both three- and four-man fronts as player availability changes.
