Posted Sep 25, 2010 has always known that four-star wide receiver Damiere Byrd was a talented player and a speedster, but it took us seeing him lose a close one to realize just how much heart the young man puts into the game. His epic individual performance was mired on Friday when his team could not pull in the win, but he talked to us about recruiting.

Damiere Byrd had touchdown runs of one, 61 and 62 yards on Friday night and also had an eight yard touchdown catch, but the outstanding performance by the 5-foot-9, 160-pound just wasn’t enough as the Timber Creek Chargers fell to Moorestown in a barn-burner at home, 41-34.

Byrd, who told after the game he already has official visits set up to Iowa and South Carolina, is looking at schools like Florida, Penn State, West Virginia and Rutgers as possible other visits. He finished the night having carried the ball nine times for 167 yards and three touchdowns and also caught five passes for 44 yards and another score. Here is the interview:
