West Virginia center Deniz Kilicli has endured a tough start to his career as a Mountaineer, first sitting out 20 games as a freshman, then missing a summer's worth of work while fulfilling an obligation to his national basketball team.

In this frank interview, Deniz Kilicli explains that he didn't get a great deal of playing time over the summer, and while he did work out, it was pretty much a lost period for him.

Kilicli's style of play, at least the one the Mountaineers expect to see from him, didn't mesh well with what his national team expected of him, so he didn't play nearly as much as he hoped. Coupled with the fact that he missed summer workouts at WVU, he termed the offseason a disappointment.
