Joe Mazzulla, no doubt echoing the coaching staff, said Friday that West Virginia "has to make their shooters into ball handlers". That's the short way of saying that the Mountaineers can't allow the Irish to stand on the perimeter and take open, step-in jumpers. If that happens, WVU will likely fall to 7-7 in the Big East conference. Instead, West Virginia will concentrate on getting out to cover Notre Dame's good shooters, and force them to drive the ball, where they might not be quite as dangerous. Then, of course, West Virginia will have to rotate, help and recover to guard against drive and pitch tactics, but that's preferable to allowing the Irish snipers open looks from outside. In this interview, Mazzulla discusses Notre Dame's Ben Hansbrough, Irish strengths on offense, and the team's more competitive practices of the past few days. Joe Mazzulla Interview
