Former WVU defensive end and current NFL Draft hopeful Bruce Irvin was arrested early Saturday morning in Morgantown, the Dominion Post reported Monday.

Irvin was charged with destruction of property and disorderly conduct, according to the paper. Police reportedly indicated Irvin broke a sign at Jimmy John’s, a sandwich shop, along High Street in downtown Morgantown.

According to the Dominion Post WVU officials declined comment, though they were informed of the arrest by Morgantown Police because Irvin is a senior at the university.

The arrest came only hours after Irvin and other former West Virginia players worked out for NFL scouts at the school’s Pro Day.

Irvin indicated in interviews after the workout that he had been repeatedly asked by NFL teams about his past. He dropped out of high school in 11th grade and twice spent time in jail before earning his GED, attending Mt. San Antonio junior college in California and coming to WVU in 2010.

Irvin officially ran a 4.50 40-yard dash at last month’s NFL Combine. He has been projected as an early round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, as either a rush end or an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense.
