Quick Turnaround

Posted Jun 18, 2012

It only took Elijah Wellman a day to act on a scholarship offer from West Virginia.

The recruiting process "blew up since camp", Wellman told BlueGoldNews.com on Sunday, but the offer that he was waiting for, from West Virginia, carried the most weight. Wellman and his family are big Mountaineer fans, so when the offer came from WVU, it was what he was waiting for.

The only surprise might have been that Wellman didn't commit as soon as he received the offer, but he apparently took the time to talk things over with his family before announcing his decision to West Virginia's coaches. Wellman confirmed the commitment to BlueGoldNews.com via text message on Monday evening.

Wellman will be a fullback at WVU. He is the seventh player in West Virginia's class of 2013.
