During his career at Champagnat Catholic School, Isaac McDonald has played everywhere from the defensive line to the secondary, and even played some running back. However, on Saturday, the rangy 6-5 defender decided to commit to West Virginia over offers from schools such as Arkansas, Clemson, Louisville, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oregon, Purdue, South Carolina and South Florida. In all, nearly 30 schools had offered the outstanding athlete.
One of the major determining factors in McDonald's decision to attend West Virginia was the chance to play safety -- just like another tall, athletic Florida defender -- Robert Sands. That chance, which WVU offered, led him to commit to the Mountaineer program.
McDonald previously committed to Clemson, but switched to WVU. We will have more with McDonald shortly
