Smith On O'Brien List

The preseason accolades continued to roll in for WVU's offensive stars, as Geno Smith landed a spot on the Davey O'Brien Award watch list released Wednesday.

Smith was one of 34 signal-callers on the list for the award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate quarterback.

Notably, he was joined by four of his Big 12 counterparts -- Seth Doege of Texas Tech, Landry Jones of Oklahoma, Collin Klein of Kansas State and Casey Pachall of TCU.

A senior from Miramar, Fla., he threw for 4,385 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2011. Smith completed almost 66 percent of his passes and tossed only seven interceptions while leading the Mountaineers to a Big East championship and a 70-33 Orange Bowl victory over Clemson. Recommended Stories
