Many fans, and, indeed, players and journalists included, frame up the Big 12 offenses as pass-first, and perhaps pass-primarily. But West Virginia co-defensive coordinator Keith Patterson notes that if the Mountaineers' multiple 3-4 can't stop the run first, it stands no chance against a handful of league foes.
