Video: Pinstripe Bowl Media Day

West Virginia's coaches don't believe that a scaled-down practice session on Wednesday will result in any problems for the Mountaineers' bowl preparation.

Dana Holgorsen believes that West Virginia is ready for the bowl game, and that the team got in some quality work in their ballroom practice, which replaced a scheduled outdoor workout due to bad weather in New York. that included the team "breaking a sweat", according to the head coach.

When asked about the amount of room available to practice, Holgorsen joked, "It's just a bit smaller than our indoor practice facility."

That's a not so veiled reference to the fact that Holgrsen wants a bigger indoor facility that has enough room for a full field and all phases of individual practice drills.

Keith Patterson was adamant in his insistence that West Virginia was not harmed by the practice schedule change. He said the Mountaineers accomplished a great deal in their practices in Morgantown before the break, and that he was very happy with the retention they showed when the team reviewed that work on Wednesday, in film study, meeting rooms and in the ballroom session.

Geno Smith said that Syracuse's clock control and turnovers were keys in the Orange's past two wins over WVU, and that the Mountaineers must reverse those outcomes to come away with a Pinstripe Bowl victory. He said that of his 21 career interceptions, five have come against the Orange. Recommended Stories
