West Virginia completed its first ever Big 12 series sweep with a pair of wins over Kansas on Saturday.

WVU head coach Randy Mazey continues to credit West Virginia's ability to grind on each play with the team's success this year, and it leaned on that attribute in both ends of the doubleheader win. WVU overcame several mistakes in game two, but Mazey felt that the Mountaineers were in good position to get the final victory.

Catcher Alan Filauro delivered the game-winning hits in both contests, and noted that was a first ever achievement. Catching 30 innings in less than 24 hours was tiring for the hero of the weekend, but he was able to block all of that out on his final plate appearance.
