Although it is early in his recruitment, the Matoaca playmaker said three schools are standing out at this time.
"Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Maryland are the group that has impressed me the most," said the A-foot-3, 209-pound Armstrong. "But I'm still wide open with the recruiting process."
As for the summer, Armstrong has already camped at Virginia Tech and will possibly camp at one other school. However, he does not know where yet.
This fall, Armstrong is looking forward to taking some visits.
"I'm already scheduled to go to the UVA-Oregon game," he said. "I'm also going to the UVA-Virginia Tech game and I might try to catch a West Virginia game, too."
For now, Armstrong's main focus is his upcoming season.
"As a team, we are pretty stable," he said. "We have a pretty good defense, but we are looking to pick it up on offense a little. We have a new quarterback, so that should help us out a lot and we should be really good. Individually, I just want to play my role and help my team win. I also want to become a better blocker."
