Holgorsen's West Virginia team also left that 73-42 loss with a handful of injuries and in need of a week to recuperate before taking on Texas Tech next Saturday.
So this bye week comes at a nice time, as the third-year head coach said his team would be taking this week to do just that during his weekly press conference Tuesday.
Last week's game against Baylor was the sixth-straight week the West Virginia football team had with a game. And what head coach Dana Holgorsen saw was a tired football team.
