West Virginia picked up their 20th commitment of the class of 2014 when Daejuan Funderburk committed to the Mountaineers. Sources have confirmed that the pledge was given to head coach Dana Holgorsen and his staff while Funderburk is in town on a visit.
Funderburk, a 6-0, 185-pound safety, recently narrowed his final schools down to West Virginia, Miami (FL) and Kentucky. However, he's made no secret about the Mountaineers being the clear leader for his services.
Just prior to his visit, Funderburk told BlueGoldNews.com that the atmosphere and prestige of the West Virginia program played a major factor in his upcoming decision.
"I think the program is historical," Funderburk said. "It's a program with high expectations. The fans are the best overall. They're real electrifying to entertain."
Scout.com ranks Funderburk a three-star prospect, and the No. 74 safety in the country.
BlueGoldNews will have more coverage and analysis from Funderburk following his visit.
