For the first time in three games, WVU was able to put together a good shooting performance and ride it to victory.

In Wednesday's 87-81 win against Texas Tech, West Virginia shot 53 percent from the field - including a 69 percent showing in the second half.

Juwan Staten filled the stat sheet once again, finishing with 16 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Gary Browne came off the bench to score six points.

Kevin Noreen played 21 minutes and, although he didn't score (or attempt a shot from the field), but made a few plays defensively to help the Mountaineers.
