The Mountaineers (22-3, 11-2 Big 12) beat then-No. 11 OSU (20-4, 9-4) 71-67 in Stillwater, Okla. on Jan. 4 for their 13th consecutive win. Since then, WVU has rattled off nine wins in 11 games, all in the rough-and-tumble Big 12. And yet the Cowgirls seem to be getting greater respect, despite lesser numbers across the board, including a RealTimeRPI differential of 17 and 21.
So, it would seem, the Mountaineers must sweep the seasons series to put the debate to bed. That's the goal Wednesday, when the two tightly-matched teams, sitting at second and third in the conference, tussle at 7 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
