BGN Video: Texas Postgame Celebration

Randy Mazey said he looked up in the stands every trip out to coach third base. And there's no wonder why.

West Virginia, in taking the regular season series from No. 11 Texas for a second straight season, was backed by 2,237 fans - the second-largest crowd in school history. When leftfielder Jacob Rice tracked down a routine fly for the final out, the Mountaineer players and coaches celebrated with high fives and higher octaves of John Denver's "Country Roads." Check out the celebration here, and hear postgame comments from Mazey, who has WVU primed for its first NCAA Tournament berth in 18 years heading into the final two weeks of the season.

Mazey, now 59-43 at West Virginia after taking two of three versus Texas, speaks to the maturation of his team and what the fan base backing means to a program beginning to truly hit stride. Recommended Stories
