Scholarship Offer Rescinded

Posted Apr 28, 2004

West Virginia University has rescinded the athletic scholarship offer to Ohio running back Raymond Williams, pending the outcome of his legal proceedings.

Williams was charged with aggravated murder and robbery after allegedly being in the company of two teammates involved in a fatal shooting in Cleveland.

In a prepared statement, head coach Rich Rodriguez said, “This is a very tragic situation. We share in the shock of the recent tragedy with his teammates, coaches and school officials in Cleveland.”
