Mike Gansey fought off the draining effects of a flu-like illness to play a solid game in WVU’s losing effort against Georgetown.

The junior guard battled for 32 long minutes, more than any other Mountaineer, despite breathing problems and congestion that limited his normal effervescent style. Gansey admitted he could play hard for no more than a three-minute stretch without feeling the effects of the illness, which also affected several other members of the team.

Despite that, the Ohio native scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds (tops on the team). He laso dished out three assists and recorded two steals. He did not suffer a turnover.

Gansey was much more efficient with his shots than he had been in past games, making three of seven from the field, including 1-2 from three-point range. Despite taking the ball to the basket on several occasions, he did not get to the free throw line.
