| Kehler, Halovanic Earn Academic Awards | ||||

WVU gymnast Amanda Halovanic and wrestler Ryan Kehler have been named to the 2001-2002 CoSIDA/Verizon Academic All-District team. | |||
|
Halovanic was named to the women's first team as a result of her perfect 4.0 GPA in marketing. Kehler, a heavyweight wrestler on WVU's EWL championship team, was named to the men's secon team with a 3.62 GAP in physical education. Halovanic and Kehler were selected from a pool of teams including, rowing, gymnastics, wrestling, fencing, hockey, swimming, tennis, rifle, golf, field hockey, lacrosse, water polo, skiing and men's volleyball. WVU is in District 2, which includes Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Kehler recorded a 19-6 record and qualified for the NCAA tournament for the second straight year. Kehler's 29 pins are the all-time record for a WVU wrestler. With her first team selection, Halovanic is in the running for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on June 13. |
