The Mountaineers improved to 8-0 in Big East play in large part due to the play of Johannes Herber.

The 6'6" senior guard finished the game with a full stat sheet. Joe had 11 points, five rebounds, seven assists, a blocked shot, and a steal in 37 minutes of play.

The "Jumping German" shot 4-9 from the field, and hit a pair of big free throws to help salt away a win for the home team.

  • The first net burner has to go to Kevin Pittsnogle, as well as the Pittsnogle family. Playing on just two hours of sleep after the birth of his son Kwynsie James yesterday evening, Kevin finished with 12 points and seven rebounds on the afternoon. His pair of threes at the beginning of the second half turned a three point deficit into a three point lead for John Beilein's team, and set the tone for the second half of play.

All of us here at congratulate Kevin, Heather, and the rest of their family on the birth of Kwynsie.

  • J.D. Collins had another productive game from his starting point guard spot. The Houston, Tx. native had seven points, three assists, and three steals in the win over Cincinnati. More importantly, he did not turn the ball over once against the pressure defense of the Bearcats.

  • The final net burner goes to the defensive effort put forth by the Mountaineers. Coming into the game Andy Kennedy's squad averaged just 10 turnovers per contest. The 1-3-1 zone flustered and frustrated Cincinnati all game, and the Bearcats had 11 turnovers by halftime. For the game, they finished with 18.
