Aliquippa linebacker Brandon Lindsey has a plan to deal with the voluminous recruiting contacts he has been receiving.

Lindsey, who is playing both running back and linebacker for the Quips, is getting serious interest from a number of schools. Included on that list are offers from Big East members West Virginia, Connecticut and Pittsburgh. In addition, Ohio State has offered, while Michigan, Georgia Tech and Penn State have also been staying in touch with the two-way standout.

"Those schools are staying in touch with me, but I am putting recruiting on the back burner until after the season," said Lindsey. "Things are going really well for our team right now. We are 5-0, and have our toughest game coming up against Beaver this Friday night. I think they have just one loss."

While some players might be concerned about missing an opportunity by delaying recruiting until after the season, Lindsey is not among that group. He has not yet begun to narrow down his list of schools, and will likely not take an official visit until after his season is over. His talented Aliquippa team could well make a deep run into the playoffs, which means it could be November or December before he begins to choose the five schools that will get official visits.

For now, however, Lindsey prefers to focus on his senior season, which could be a big one for the Quips. When the time does come to narrow down his schools of choice, Lindsey noted a slight preference for one side of the ball, although he did reverse his field in his comments as niftily as he does while toting the rock.

"I don't have a preference for playing running back or linebacker. Well, not, really, but maybe a little bit," he said of his lean toward the offensive side of the field. "I don't think that will make a big difference in my choices, though."
