NBA Summer League Update

Mike Gansey and Kevin Pittsnogle were both in action Thursday night in the NBA Summer League.

Everything went wrong for Pittsnogle's Cavaliers as Cleveland dropped a 100-76 decision at the hands of Memphis. The Martinsburg native only saw about four minutes of action, scoring three points and snaring a rebound in the lopsided loss.

Ironically, one of the players Kevin is competing for a roster spot with is Dwayne Jones, a Morgantown-born big man out of St. Joseph's who's father was a defensive lineman at West Virginia in the 1980's. Jones and Pittsnogle were also competing for a roster spot last summer on the Boston Celtics. Ultimately, Pittsnogle was cut and Jones was traded to Cleveland. Jones had a big game on Thursday night, tallying 15 points and six rebounds.

Gansey and the Clippers came away with an 85-73 win over Minnesota in the nightcap of Thursday's action. The Olmstead Falls, Oh. native finished with seven points and three rebounds on the night, but also committed five turnovers.

Former Miami Hurricane Guillermo Diaz, also competing for a roster spot as a guard, had a breakout game with 13 points for the Clippers.

Pittsnogle has the night off, while Gansey and the Clippers will square off with Memphis at 6:00.
