Darris' Day

West Virginia senior point guard Darris Nichols received an unexpected honor when he returned to Radford, Va. for a game against Radford University.

Nichols, who attended Radford High School, received an honor from the Cty of Radford, which proclaimed Dec. 19 Darris Nichols Day.

Nichols received a writeup in the game program and was the subject of a pre-game ceremony, where a proclamation was read in his honor.

Nichols led Radford High School to four consecutive state tournament appearances, twice reaching the state finals. He is Radford's all-time leading scorer, and graduated from the school in 2004.
