The postseason awards keep rolling in for the West Virginia University women's soccer team. Seniors Ashley Banks and Kim Bonilla have been named to the 2007 NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-America Soccer Team announced National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) officials.

Banks, an NSCAA third team All-American this season, scored 15 goals at forward and totaled 38 points the most-ever by a WVU senior womens soccer player. The Annandale, Va., native was also named an ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). A forensic and investigative science major, Banks is a finalist for the 2007 Soccer Buzz National Player of the Year.

Bonilla, an honorable mention all-BIG EAST forward this season, was third on the team with 21 points on seven goals and seven assists. The Dumfries, Va., native was named to the all-tournament team at the 2007 BIG EAST Championship and the tournaments Most Outstanding Offensive Player. An advertising major, Bonilla took 78 shots this season with 44 on goal, good for a team-best .564 shots on goal percentage.

Banks and Bonilla have been invited to attend an All-America luncheon at the 61st annual NSCAA Convention on Jan. 19, 2008, in Baltimore. The two are the first NSCAA Scholar All-Americans since Laura Kane was a two-time selection in 2003 and 2004.

West Virginia made its first NCAA Elite Eight appearance this season with a record of 18-5-2, tying the school record for victories in a season. The Mountaineers won both the BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles.
