Former West Virginia University kicker Mike Vanderjagt is back in the professional ranks after sitting out the 2007 season.

Vanderjagt has signed a free agent deal with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL -- the team that gave him his start in professional football. Vanderjagt helped the Argos to two Grey Cups during his short CFL tenure before moving on the the National Football League.

In the NFL, Vanderjagt became the most accurate place kicker in history, hitting 86.5% of his tries during his career with Indianapolis and Dallas. However, two crucial misses against the Colts while playing for the Cowboys in 2006 led to his release from the team.

Vanderjagt, who did not play football in 2007, is a native of Oakville, Ont., and now resides in Toronto. He began workouts with the Argonauts last week.
