After a lengthy search, West Virginia's men's basketball program has found its new strength and conditioning coach.

Winthrop head strength coach Andy Kettler has resigned his position with the South Carolina school to accept the position of head strength coach for men’s basketball at WVU, according to the school's web site.

Kettler, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and a 2001 graduate of Ashland (OH) University, spent two seasons at Winthrop after previously working as the head strength coach of the Kansas City Royals for two years.

Following college, he served as an intern at the University of Toledo before joining the Cleveland Indians as strength coach for one of that organization’s minor league teams. After a one-year stint with the Indians organization, Kettler served as minor league strength coordinator for the San Diego Padres’ six minor league teams.
