The game is part of a unique eight-team tournament in which four teams (West Virginia, Kentucky, Kansas State and Iowa) play two mid -majors at home before traveling to LAs Vegas to square off for tournament titles.
West Virginia will play Longwood (in Morgantown) and Delaware State (in Charleston) before making the trip to Las Vegas.
In game two of the Western swing, WVU will play either Kentucky or Kansas State, depending on the outcomes of the opening night games.
Oakland will play Delaware State and
Southeast Missouri takes on Longwood in the other opening games on the 28th.
West Virginia will face the Hawkeyes at 9:00 PM Eastern time on the 28th. A win would put them in the championship game on Nov. 29 at 10:30 PM on ESPN2, while a loss would slot them at 7:30 PM on the same day.
West Virginia has one open spot remaining on its schedule for the upcoming year. That slot is expected to be filled by Davidson in a made-for-TV tournament at Madison Square Garden.
