Ivy, Stanchek, White Get Big East Nods

Mortty Ivy, Ryan Stanchek and Patrick White were named to the first team all-Big East squad announced today by the league.

Ivy led WVU in tackles with 86. He had six sacks and three interceptions, and broke up another five passes. He also had one fumble recovery which he ran back 30 yards.

Stanchek helped key an offense that rushed for 217.2 yards per game, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

White accounted for 2,429 yards of total offense, rushing for 919 and accounting for another 1,510 through the air. He threw 18 scoring passes and ran for another eight TDs.

The trio of seniors heled West Virginia to an 8-4 record and a spot in the Meineke Care Care Bowl on Dec. 27.

WVU had x second team selections, including wide receiver Jock Sanders, offensive lineman Mike Dent, running back Noel Devine, defensive back Ellis Lankster and punter/kicker Pat McAfee. McAfee snared both special teams spots.
