It is the third straight year Ruoff has earned district
first-team honors. Last year, Ruoff earned third-team Academic
All-America honors, one of 15 men's basketball student-athletes to earn
national honors.
A history major with a 3.79 GPA, Ruoff is second on the team in
scoring at 15.9 points per game. For his career, Ruoff has made 225
3-point field goals, dished out 370 assists and has 174 steals.
Along with Ruoff, Jason Duty of Duquesne, Marquis Hall of
Lehigh, Yves Mekongo Mbala of La Salle and Danny Morrissey of Penn State
earned all-district first-team honors. Ruoff is the only Big East
men’s basketball student-athlete named to any of the eight district
teams.
A Steubenville, Ohio, native, Repella boasts a 3.95 GPA in
exercise physiology and leads the Mountaineers in scoring (15.6) and
rebounding (7.8). She has reached double figure scoring in 19 of 21
games so far this season, including five 20-point efforts with seven
double-doubles.
Along with Repella, Jennifer Bender (Monmouth), Maria Getty
(Villanova), Joyce Novacek (Bucknell) and Morgan Robertson (La Salle)
were named to the CoSIDA All-District II First Team. Repella is one of
just four BIG EAST student-athletes named to the first team in any of
the eight districts (Getty, Maya Moore/Connecticut, Jill
Stephens/Cincinnati).
Ruoff, a native of Spring Hill, Fla., and Repella are now candidates for
Academic All-America honors.
