Posted Dec 31, 2002

A Mountaineer basketball signee put on a show at Myrtle Beach this weekend.

Tyler Relph of McQuaid Jesuit High School took home MVP honors as his team won the prestigious Beach Ball Classic over the past weekend.

Relph's squad defeated eighth-ranked Bishop O'Connell in the finals. Relph led the way with 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals as he played all 32 minutes of the contest.

Relph, who scored 40 points in a game earlier this year, figures to provide WVU with immediate backcourt depth next year.
