The West Virginia football coaching staff announced just before kickoff of Saturday's Gold-Blue game that the team's annual Tommy Nickolich Award winner is Josh Taylor.

Taylor, a defensive lineman, was chosen by the staff as the Mountaineers' top walk-on of the spring.

The redshirt sophomore from Miramar, Fla., has established himself in the two-deep along the line and has impressed position coach Bill Kirelawich.

The Nickolich Award is presented annually by the Blue and Gold News but chosen by the staff themselves.

Check back with BlueGoldNews.com after the game for an interview with Josh Taylor.
