Lankster, who was on Mel Kiper's list of best available list of cornerbacks for much of Sunday, was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 220th overall pick of the draft.
Lankster, listed at five feet, nine inches and 191 pounds, showed his ability at the Senior Bowl after a two-year career at West Virginia.
The Mississippi native faces something of a crowded roster in Buffalo, which has six cornerbacks and five safeties on its roster. Lankster, who also demonstrated good tackling skills at WVU, could compete for a roster spot at either cornerback or safety.
As a senior, he had 68 tackles, three interceptions and seven pass breakups.
