nine RBIs and four runs scored. The Coatesville, Pa., native’s six hits are a single game
school record while his nine runs driven in
tie Bill Biddle’s nine RBIs on May 9, 1947, as well
as Angelo Onder’s RBI total on May 23, 1936.
The junior finished the weekend with 77 RBIs on the season, sitting
just five shy of breaking Mark Landers’ 81-RBI
season in 1994. Belnome also jumped his batting
average by 19 points on the afternoon, carrying
a .425 clip heading into Monday’s home finale
against Youngstown State.

Youngstown State … the Mountaineers then travel north for a three-game series at Pitt, May 14-16.

High jumper Katelyn Williams cleared a height of 1.71-meters to win the event as the West Virginia University
track and fi eld team competed at the Penn State Open in University Park, Pa. … Williams’ jump was a season-best
for the sophomore … Stephanie Caruso was the only other Mountaineer to compete at the meet. The Wheeling,
W.Va., native placed 10th in the 1,500-meter event.

the only Mountaineer boat to qualify for the semifinals with a time of 5:15:43 in front of Drake ... the boat of Amelia
Nelson, Alexandra Flavion, Alexa Waugh, Caitlin Murphy, Melissa Shaver, Shannon Gribbons, Jeannine McCarty,
Lauren Washabaugh, with coxswain Amy Cheung, then finished sixth in the semifinals with a time of 7:07.00, in front
of Rochester (7:10.70) ... also racing was the Varsity 8+, who raced well with a time of 4:53.66, but narrowly missed
the cutoff to qualify ... the Varsity 2- also had a good race, as they crossed the line in 6:38.48, but failed to qualify for
the semifinals.
