12th Commitment In the Fold

Mt. Carmel (Penn.) defensive end Trevor Demko has added his name to West Virginia's list of verbal commitments in the football class of 2010.

Demko, a rangy defensive end with a big wingspan and very good speed, committed to West Virginia after a visit to the Mountaineer campus last weekend.

A skilled athlete who has played several different positions for Mt. Carmel, Demko has the tools to become an effect pass rusher off the edge of the defense, which is an area that West Virginia has been looking to bolster for the past few seasons. He earned all conference, all area and all-state small school honors last year as a junior, when he racked up 70 tackles and nine sacks while helping Carmel to a 12-1 record and a spot in the WPIAL state playoffs.

Demko is West Virginia's first defensive line commitment in the Class of 2010.
