Berry Suspended

Scooter Berry

West Virginia defensive lineman Scooter Berry's 2009 season hasn't been what he expected. Two injuries have caused him to miss a substantial portion of WVU's schedule to date, and now he has been suspended indefinitely from the team following a weekend arrest.

Berry, who missed the Auburn and Colorado games and played sparingly against Syracuse as he recovered from a shoulder injury sustained against East Carolina, was suspended from the Mountaineer squad indefinitely following his arrest early Sunday morning for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Berry, who suffered a leg injury in WVU's 24-7 win over Marshall, posted bond and was released later on Sunday.

Berry's spot in the lineup will continue to be manned by former walk-on Josh Taylor, who has filled his spot since Berry left the game against the Pirates. Berry has played in a handful of passing situations during the last two games. Recommended Stories
