Groundbreaking Set

Posted Jan 20, 2010

West Virginia's long-awaited basketball practice facility will have its ceremonial groundbreaking in two weeks.

The ceremonial groundbreaking will take place on Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Erickson Alumni Center. WVU head coaches Bob Huggins and Mike Carey, along with president James Clements and athletic director Ed Pastilong, will attend.

The facility, which was originally slated to cost in the range of $26 million, might be completed for as little as $18 million. No features are reportedly being cut from the facility, which includes separate practice floors, locker rooms, player lounges and coaches offices for both the men's and women's programs.

Also included in the facility are a hydrotherapy area, weight room, training area and conference room, as well as a basketball hall of fame.
