West Virginia offensive tackle Lance Nimmo was one of several former Mountaineers who worked out for approximately 30 pro scouts at WVU's pro day last Wednesday.

Nimmo was joined by several teammates, including Avon Cobourne, Jason Davis, James Davis, David Upchurch, Phil Braxton, Derrick Smith, and Mike Page.

Several past WVU players, including linebacker David Carter, also were on hand to work out for the scouts in attendance.

While the workouts were similar in many respects to those conducted at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, Nimmo noted that each coach has their own little twists to the way they want things done.

"I pretty much try do what I was taught, but I listen to what the coaches say," Nimmo said of the various drills. "For instance if they want you to pull you a certain way, then you do that. It's not that big of a change, just little technique changes. I try to keep it simple, because if you don't you can just end up confusing yourself. But, you have to try to do what the coach tells you to do."

Nimmo, who said he improved on all of his performances at the combine, noted that the Dolphins, Browns, and Texans seemed the most interested in him. the Dolphins also showed additional interest in him at the combine.

Although this is the last group setting that Nimmo figures to work out in, its not the last of the workouts. Several teams have contacted him about doing individual workouts, and he already has one scheduled with the Texans in Morgantown, with others expected to follow.

"I'm confident I'm going to get drafted," the big offensive lineman said, "but I'm going to graduate this spring too. I'll just keep working and see how it all turns out."

This year's NFL Draft will be held April 26 and 27.
