WVU Gets QB Verbal

West Virginia has received its latest verbal commitment as head coach Dana Holgorsen gains another quarterback.

West Virginia's search to find a quarterback for the class of 2015 appears to be narrowing. Skillman (N.J.) signal-caller Chris Chugunov committed to the Mountaineers on Monday, one day removed from performing at WVU's individual camp.

"West Virginia was one of the first schools to come by Montgomery High (N.J.) and I've been in touch with coach (Brian) Mitchell ever since," Chugunov said. "This is such a great opportunity to play there and I could pass it up."

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Chugunov picked up the Mountaineers' offer on the heels on yesterday's performance. After speaking with his family late yesterday evening he decided to make the call. "It was great," Chugunov said of informing the WVU coaching staff. "I think both sides are exited. I know I am."

The right-hander threw for 1,957 yards last season while completing 145 of 298 passes (48.7 percent). He tallied 12 touchddowns against eight interceptions and BlueGoldNews.com will have more with Chugunov shortly.
