It didn't take long for Martinsburg High School's Deamonte Lindsay to accept a scholarship offer and commit to West Virginia.

A two-way standout for West Virginia power Martinsburg High School, Lindsay received a scholarship offer from WVU during a weekend camp visit. Sunday evening, he committed to the Mountaineer program.

A standout running back and safety, Lindsay is expected to begin his career as a defender for the Mountaineers. He could range anywhere from free safety down to either the spur or bandit positions, which have returned as the linchpins of the retooled WVU defense this spring.

As a junior, Lindsay ruushed for more than 1,200 yards and tallied 15 scores in helping the Bulldogs to their fourth consecutive AAA State Championship this past December.

Lindsay is the 16th player in West Virginia's football recruiting class of 2015.
