Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson discussed the issues near the goal line, how the defense had far better edge pressure than they had in past scrimmages and the missed shots down the field.
"We drove the field good, we just got down there and didn't punch it in," he said. "It's good. We are done with camp and we are healthy."
Line coach Ron Crook said he is "pleased with where the team is" after Saturday's scrimmage. The first team unit looked especially good, and there's little question the cohesiveness and ability to play together are far superior to what they were last season. Crook said he understands his team has made great progression, but there is still significant work prior to the opener against No. 2 Alabama in two weeks.
